In demand Job Occupations

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is locally driven and based on the needs of Manitoba employers. It selects internationally trained and experienced workers who possess skills needed in the local labor market.

To identify candidates who meet employer needs, the MPNP determines in-demand occupations using Manitoba's labour market information and occupational forecasts, along with employer consultations. The occupations listed use the 2021 version of the National Occupation Classification (NOC).

In-Demand Occupations List

The In-Demand Occupations List outlines occupations considered "in demand" in Manitoba. It is regularly updated. Many occupations on this list are restricted to specific MPNP streams and pathways. Candidates must meet the requirements of the respective streams and are prioritized in Expression of Interest (EOI) draws.

Francophone Candidates

Francophone candidates are those whose French language proficiency equals or exceeds their English proficiency. Language proficiency must be supported by an MPNP-approved language test. Francophone candidates applying through the Skilled Worker Overseas Pathway must work in an in-demand occupation or fields like media, communication, or education.

Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB)

The CLB levels listed in the In-Demand Occupations List are minimum requirements for Skilled Worker pathways. Some pathways, such as the International Education Stream, require CLB 7 across all skill areas regardless of the occupation.
