Privacy Policy

Effective February 16, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Path To PR (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit pathtopr.ca (the “Site”). We built this platform for immigrants, and we treat your data with the same care we’d want ours treated.

The short version: we collect very little, we don’t sell anything, and your calculator inputs never leave your browser.

2. What We Collect

Information You Don’t Provide

Our CRS Calculator, PNP Calculator, and other tools run entirely in your browser. Your scores, inputs, age, education level, language test results, work history, and all other personal information you enter into our calculators are processed client-side and are never sent to or stored on our servers. We cannot see your results. We do not have access to your immigration profile data.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain technical information through analytics services:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) — pages visited, session duration, referral source, device type, browser, approximate geographic location (country and city level, not street address), and interaction events (clicks, scrolls)
  • Microsoft Clarity — anonymized session recordings, heatmaps, and click patterns to understand how users navigate the Site

Both services use cookies and similar technologies. The data collected is aggregated and anonymized. We use it to understand which pages are useful, where users drop off, and how to improve the Site.

Information You Provide Voluntarily

If you contact us via email or any contact form, we collect the information you choose to provide (name, email address, message content). This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it
  • Identify and fix technical issues, errors, and broken pages
  • Analyze aggregate traffic patterns and user behavior
  • Respond to inquiries and support requests

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, send marketing emails (unless you explicitly opt in), or make automated decisions about you.

4. What We Don’t Do

To be explicit:

  • We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to any third party, ever
  • We do not store your calculator inputs or results
  • We do not collect immigration application numbers, UCI numbers, passport information, or any government-issued identifiers
  • We do not require you to create an account to use the Site
  • We do not use your data for targeted advertising
  • We do not share individual-level data with any government body, immigration authority, or employer

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site uses cookies for:

  • Analytics cookies — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity use cookies to distinguish unique visitors and track sessions. These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information.
  • Functional cookies — to remember your preferences such as dark mode settings and theme choice

You can disable cookies through your browser settings. The Site will continue to function without cookies, though analytics data will not be collected.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) — web analytics. Google Privacy Policy
  • Microsoft Clarity — behavior analytics. Microsoft Privacy Statement
  • Sanity.io — content management system for editorial content
  • Vercel — hosting and deployment infrastructure

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies. We select services that align with responsible data practices, but we cannot control how third parties handle data once it reaches their systems.

7. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained according to the default retention policies of Google Analytics (14 months) and Microsoft Clarity (30 days for session recordings). Email correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter.

Since we do not collect or store calculator inputs, there is no immigration-related personal data to retain or delete.

8. Data Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. We use industry-standard security practices for our infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to or from the Site.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 16, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Opt out of analytics tracking by disabling cookies or using browser extensions such as Google Analytics Opt-out

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@pathtopr.ca. We will respond within 30 days.

11. Canadian Privacy Law

Path To PR operates from Canada and is subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. We are committed to compliance with Canadian privacy law. If you have a complaint about our privacy practices, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

12. International Users

The Site is hosted in North America. If you access the Site from outside Canada, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Canada and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. By using the Site, you consent to such transfers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
