Tourism and Hospitality Stream
The Tourism and Hospitality Stream is designed for temporary foreign workers in Alberta’s tourism and hospitality sector who have a full-time job offer from a qualifying Alberta employer in an eligible occupation. Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Currently working full-time in Alberta in the tourism and hospitality sector.
- Have a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
- Fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria for occupation, language, education, Alberta job offer, and work experience.
Eligible Industries and Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB) – Alberta Coverage Requirements
To qualify under this stream:
- The Alberta employer's primary business activities must belong to an eligible industry, as defined by the WCB – Alberta industry code or exempt activities.
- Employers must provide valid WCB coverage or proof of exemption via a WCB clearance letter.
Refer to Table 1 below for a list of eligible industries.
